pub struct PartitionRowSet {
pub rows_time_range: TimeRange,
pub rows: RecordBatch,
pub max_sort_key_time: Option<DateTime<Utc>>,
}Expand description
A set of rows for a partition, along with their time range.
Fields§
§rows_time_range: TimeRange§rows: RecordBatch§max_sort_key_time: Option<DateTime<Utc>>The true maximum value of the view’s declared Concatenated leading sort column across
this row set (begin, for thread_spans). None for every sender except
thread_spans_view.rs, the only view that declares that ordering today; see
Partition::max_sort_key_time’s docs for the field it eventually feeds.
Implementations§
Source§impl PartitionRowSet
impl PartitionRowSet
Sourcepub fn new(
rows_time_range: TimeRange,
rows: RecordBatch,
max_sort_key_time: Option<DateTime<Utc>>,
) -> PartitionRowSet
pub fn new( rows_time_range: TimeRange, rows: RecordBatch, max_sort_key_time: Option<DateTime<Utc>>, ) -> PartitionRowSet
Takes max_sort_key_time as a required third argument (rather than defaulting it to
None) so every future caller has to make an explicit choice. None happens to be
correct for every caller today – none of them declares a Concatenated event-time
ordering – but a defaulted new() would hand that None out silently, and a future view
that does declare the ordering could be wired through ::new and get a wrong bound with
no signal at all. The failure mode of a silent default here is a scan check that trusts a
bound nobody computed.
